Well the writing on the wall that ever increasing amounts and of bankruptcy%26#039;s were dragging down the economy is no surprise thats been a concern for a few decades.

It made sense to do somethign to reign in that drain.

certainly there are many reasons the economy is volatile.

One thing is for certain dont look to the government as a fiscal role model to learn from.

People do badly need to get themselves and their financial lives under control though.

It wasnt someone else who charged up those credit cards and perpetually refinanced their house to take vacations, or consolidate all teh credit card debt so they can charge them up again.

No one forced them to buy a house that was more than they really could afford.

Now gas prices and healthcare and jobs outsourced is something else.

But incurred debt was a choice. So yes I do agree not a bright move.

when I started hearing of people burning credit cards in on-line poker sites..I knew this day was coming and paid all of my discretionary debt off a few years ago

Nobody even noticed when they exempted credit card debt from bankruptcy and then doubled minimum payments. This administration is so corrupt it%26#039;s hard to keep up with it all.

I agree with your points about healthcare, gas, and somewhat about the outsourcing of jobs.

As far as housing and credit cards, a lot of people spent more than they can afford. It%26#039;s not anybodies fault but their own (and in a few instances, predatory lenders). I racked up a lot of credit card debt a few years ago. Whose fault was it? MINE, and it%26#039;s my responsibility to fix it (which I have). I%26#039;ve learned my lesson, and none of it required filing bankruptcy. I got rid of my cell phone, stopped going out every night, and was able to double my payment on the CC. People create their own messes, and need to clean them up themselves.

or you forgot the new Universal billing law which was passed where if your late on one payment all of the rates on all of your cards can go up to their max like you paid all of them late -bye bye middle class

What in hell are we going to do to survive? I was forced to retire after a heart attack then a short time later a nasty stroke.I lost all my insurance and had to use my savings just to get by until I got my S.S. I had to sell our house because I couldn%26#039;t keep it up. We get a very small raise on our SS. retirement each year about 12% then our rent goes up 18% With the cost of gas food rent Health needs ect. I will go hungry before I ever let my wife go without,and I do a lot more often than she will ever know.

My point is everyone of us are bad off and we need some help getting our economie back on track.Bush sure as hell don%26#039;t care.He knowes where his next meal is coming from.
