My fiance and I are are supposed to be getting married Aug 17 of this year. We aren%26#039;t having a big fling just a small intimate ceremony and reception with his family since I have no family who will be there. He has said that he wanted to take out a small personal loan to cover the expenses and to help establish his credit so that one day we can buy a home. Well he has said he would take care of the money for the last 2 weeks and he hasn%26#039;t done anything. We don%26#039;t have anything ordered....rings, attire, etc. He keeps coming up with excuses for why he hasn%26#039;t done what he said he would do. I feel like he really doesn%26#039;t want to go through with this and is to scared to say anything. I just want to know something so I can move on with my life if he feels that way b/c I don%26#039;t want to be with someone who doesn%26#039;t want to be with me. A man is only as good as his word so why can%26#039;t mine follow through with his...other than he just doesn%26#039;t want to.. Thanks for the help!

I%26#039;m sure he loves you. I think he%26#039;s more afraid of taking out a loan to pay for a wedding. Why would you take out a loan for a wedding? You two should sit down and talk about a savings plan you guys can stick to to have a perfect wedding without worrying about having a financial mess to deal with going into your marriage. Remember, you should only borrow money for continuing education, a house (real estate), or for a small business. Everything else, save and pay.

It may not be that he doesn%26#039;t want to go through with the commitment. Men are men. I have to tell my husband for a week to take out the trash alone. I would just sit down and talk to him, telling him what you told us. If there is something he needs to tell you, give him that opportunity, but I would not assume he doesn%26#039;t want to get married until you talk to him. Especially bc it is a small ceremony, he may not realize there are still time limitations. Men really don%26#039;t understand things such as this for the most part, especially if he is a younger man. i would come right out and ask him. if you cant do that, you cant communicate. and thats a big problem.

also, from personal experience: if you want something done, do it yourself. its easy to come up with bright ideas but going through with them isnt so simple.

I think you need to work that out NOW, and if he%26#039;s still dragging his feet, postpone or cancel the wedding. Integrity is important, and he needs to follow thru on his words. I also would have red flags going up if I were in your situation.

(Except for the 1% where he truly forgets, but only on small stuff, e.g. forgetting to bring the camera on a trip.) But when he says he%26#039;ll do something big: e.g. pay a bill, get the car washed, make an appointment, etc., he always follows thru.

i think you may be on to something. but you shouldn%26#039;t be asking us, you need to ask him. be open, tell him what you told us. be honest and say you are scared that maybe he doesn%26#039;t want to be with you, you value and trust what he says to you, and so you want to know why he is hesitating.
