My wife is getting sued for 4,000 +2899legal fees=6899 with credit card. we are stacked up with debt for medical bills with our son but cant to go bankrupt with my income too high. This company we have been working with will not help out or take out payments. The left a couple of messages stating you need to give this office a call now or else you will see the rath of the courts and ruin your life good luck. There was another conversation they will come and take everything. We went to a family lawyer we know and he told us just with the taped messages he could get it all taken care of for about 500-750. Can the our lawyer do this. i have next week to make a decission

Call your Attorney Generals office and find out what the laws are in your state concerning collections. There is a Fair Debt Collection Act that you can probably get on the web for the state you are in. Also post somewhere or call your legal forum to see if there are others who have the same complaint with this company. I had one that threatened and come to find out they had a class action suit against them for their tactics. You really need to talk with your states AG office. Remember even if they are in another state they have to comply with your states regulations. Good Luck, one more thing there are organization out there to help especially if this company is causing a health issue, check with other lawyers they might have a smaller set fee.

If your lawyer says he can do this, then there is no reason to believe he can%26#039;t. You either trust him or you don%26#039;t. If you do, work with him and try to get this mess cleaned up. If you don%26#039;t, find another lawyer you do trust, and work with him. Either way, you need help to deal with the bullying tactics the company is using. A lawyer will be able to tell you when their tactics are illegal (there are limits to what they can do, including limits on harassment) so find some help before things get worse.
