Am I going to have trouble renting a house???

Our lease is about to be up on the current home we are renting. We are moving because the property manager is impossible to deal with. He is a bully and refuses to talk to me because I am a women and only wants to deal with my husband. He also thinks that it is ok to give us one hour notice that he will be there to inspect the property when our contract states he needs to give reasonable notice (24 + hrs) I am worried that when prospective new landlords call him he will give us a horrible refrence as tenets even though we pay rent on time and take care of the property (always VERY clean when he comes in but yet finds something wrong we are doing like - %26quot;the boxes should be in the attic not the garage%26quot;) We also had a flood from a company installing a washer wrong. The owner got a settlement check because it was ruled it was not our fault but the company who installed it. Our credit isnt bad but we just dont have a lot of it. Do we even have a chance because of our current prop. mang?

There are many worse tenants out there. Most landlords are interested in your good credit and if you pay your rent on time. If the property manager tried to complain to a prospective landlord that you had boxes in your garage, I don%26#039;t think most would take him seriously. And if they did, you probably wouldn%26#039;t want that person as a landlord anyway. I%26#039;m sure you%26#039;ll be fine. Good luck!

You should be OK.

i%26#039;ve never had to use property references before renting the next place.

the most I%26#039;ve ever done is fill out an application. (some I had to pay because they do a credit history).

I found it easier to buy a home than to rent and to keep dealing with crooked and crazy landlords. I never thought I could afford it but I am so glad I did.

I wouldn%26#039;t worry too much about it. However, make sure you provide your landlord a written 30-day move-out notice. Many property management companies will not provide references without the tenants%26#039; notice.

Even if he gives you a negative reference, you should be able to contest whatever he says. It doesn%26#039;t sound like he has any thing to complain about though.

If you%26#039;re that worried it though, have a friend pose a screener and request a rental reference.

Hun, your fine. you don%26#039;t need to worry about anything. sounds like your landlord is running you over. he is supposed to give you a 24 hr notice.

ask the landlord questions!!

1. where in the contract that states he can only give you a 1 hr notice.

2. where in the contract that states you need to put all boxes in the attic, not in the garage.

in deed he cannot find any answers to the questions expect that it states in the contract that he have to give you a 24 hr notice.

again you don%26#039;t need to worry. Trust me.
